Awful to think of people up North without gas, probably for days! Relief centres have been set up - 1 needs to fill Thermos flasks with hot water, buy hottie bottles, get lots of woollen clothing on, in layers ......... share the same bed with as much blankets on top as possible. We managed years ago, waking to ice pictures on the inside of the windows but we had woollen clothing. Dad would set the fire B4 anyone else got up. However, these days many properties are reliant on 1 form of heating .......... and this will continue now that new properties are to be built with gas, it will be all electric: but that has to be powered from somewhere

the laurel has been cut down this morning.
No, correction, not wasps, don't know what they are tbh, but the babies are with them....maybe moths? 🤷‍♀️ They look like wasps from inside the house!

Won't be moths and unlikely to be wasps who don't fly with babies. Take a piccie: what colour are they? How big in relation to a pound coin? Do they buzz ........... probably flies which can be quite pretty

Ah Jillydoll I walk past a hedge that as insects swarming round it, today it was definitely flies (99% sure), but back in September I thought they were wasps!
