Quite a few roads impassable due to black ice and now thick thick fog to add to travellers woes

We just didn't get any snow at all - nowhere near here :(. We just had gales and rain.  Well we had one morning of icy roads and icy cars and that was it! Last few days it's been sunny but cold though - now getting milder. So boring!!! I was envious of the fun and dramatic landscapes seeing it all on the news!

Cold and rainy  ::)  Carol services in cold rainy places with wet muddy fields to park in  :(  Not Christmassy.

I agree Hasty.   There is still snow laying around, even where the  :sunny: has been shining.  The road outside my house remained crackly until yesterday, despite  :sunny:.  I am SO pleased that my Mum is 'safe' in a care home !  Had she been in and out feeing the birds in her garden  :-\  :-X

There is a large lump of snow in our back garden.  Waiting for more?  We had to de-ice the windows on our car this morning, took 20 mins., one window no longer opens  :o  :(. - because of ice last week, the mechanism has failed, fortunately with the window closed  :-\.  More expense, more time to spend getting it to the Dealership which of course, closes over the Fesitive Season.  Hopefully the mechanism will remain 'locked', or what ever the problem might be.

Today it's been foggy. Intermittently as we drove across Northmapontshire, Leicestershire and beyond ........ grey, dull, cold ......... Snow is OK on C.mas cards or on top of the Pyrenees!

Everything is white with a heavy frost this morning - proper wintry feel - and the mornings are so dark - but we are almost at the Solstice ..... :)

Snow.  Sleet.  Thick sleet.  Roads passable with care.  No snow.  Rain ......... across the Midlands today, heavy snow around Black Cat, accidents the A14 and road conditions dreadful between Daventry and Leicesturshire!
