Hello ladies,

I noticed a breast indent today (front of left breast about 1 inch to the right of the nipple). Had it checked by the GP who has referred me in the 2 week care path.

I have another indent in this left breast that has been there for a few years (I'm 51) and has been checked by 2 mams and 1 US. My last mam was in May. I have dense breasts.

Since May, I've lost about 3.5 stone and my boobs hang like an orangutans; the skin won't ever be the same.

I'm on Evorel Sequi then Conti (currently on patch 7/8; I also have VERY dodgy cycles due to PCOS 17-40 days) and Mounjaro (5mg). I should be due on within the next few days and had a day of breakthrough bleeding on Saturday due, I think, to messing about with my patches (currently on 1 + 1/4 because 1 patch isn't enough to cover my previous 3 pumps of gel and 1 + 1/2 makes me feel sick). I had to change from gel/oral when I went onto Mounjaro.

I'm trying to be rational. (No lump.) Rationalisations VERY much appreciated.

You have done the right thing getting this checked out, but I would be reassured by the recent normal imaging - whilst not 100% accurate it is unlikely to have overlooked a cancer that was anything other than a very early stage.

Also the intentional weight loss, (as jealous as I am of people who can afford mounjaro 😉) is in your favour as well, because any recent changes in the breast's appearance are more likely to be attributable to this rather than anything sinister.

Plus the fact that losing weight has lowered your overall risk of breast and other cancers longer term.

Thank you, that's exactly the sort of rational reassurance I need. Didn't expect to see a problem this early after a mam but then, I didn't expect to lose the weight and see quite so much droop.

Now I need to get away from Dr Google, who is terrifying me by linking indents to cancer instead of telling me what else it could be (despite trying different search terms). Very scary.
