I have just got off a call with a GP, who suggested that I requested dydrogesterone when it's 'available', so I immediately started googling and ende up here!  I currently have the mirena coil which is well in date but I really want it out at the first available opportunity so have been trying cautiously to "make friends" with Utrogestan as we have clashed a few times in the past. I took it upon myself to first take it every 4 days, then 3 and then every other day. By the 3rd dose of alternate days I had become an absolute wretch of a human- explosively furious, wanting to cry non stop, having the bleakest, blackest outlook on everything and was a hairs breadth from hitting the f*ckit button and throwing a grenade into my life!  Fortunately the inner voice of reason piped up and warned me not to take another Utrogestan, though I wrestled with the self punishing and sabotaging inner demon that was egging me on. It's horrific, I really have a Jekyll and Hyde type experience with progesterone (even the "localised" mirena coil to a slightly lesser extent) so my long winded questions are 1) can someone point me to where I can find my local formulary list- I'm going round in circles on Google and b) if you've tried dydrogesterone because of extreme reaction to other forms of progesterone, how did it go?
Thanks and blessings to you all, ladies. X

I am always amazed at what women will put up with on micronised progesterone when there are so many other good options.

I hope you manage to get hold of dydrogesterone, when my time comes I plan to self fund it if I can't get it on the NHS, like I do now with my combined pill Zoely.

Hi Hurdity,

How can I find out if nalvee/dydrogesterone (or any medication for that matter) is available on my local formulary?

I'm considering asking to switch to navlee at my next dr's appointment but want to make sure it's even an option first.
