Hi
I had a hysteroscopy a couple of years of years ago following post menopausal bleeding, my endometrium was slightly thickened so I had a biopsy to make sure all OK. The gynae suggested a Mirena Coil, initially I wasn't keen as I'd had a bad experience with a coil back in the 80s but she and the nurse I dealt with both assured me the Mirena is different. So I went for it, the coil was fitted during the same procedure as the biopsy and I've no regrets at all. I had about 12 weeks of spotting but very light and sporadic, other than that no negative effects.
I'd make the same decision again and, if I can, I'll have this one replaced when it's end of life.
