l-theanine and ashwagandha and magnesium
« on: February 19, 2025, 11:39:36 AM »

Hi

I have not posted for a while.  And I apologise for the lengthy post. I am almost 54 and had have been on HRT (evorel Sequi 50 and Evorel 25g) since last April.  Is it helping? who knows.  I have been very down the last month of so and my anxiety is through the roof.  I have been signed off from work for two weeks (GP has put it as Work related stress) much to my employers dismay.  It has been really stressful at work as we have been really sort staffed and I have been doing the job of 2 if not three people.  I have been constantly crying (locked myself in the toilets at work and just sat there crying).  I am snappy with EVERYONE, including those at home. I do not generally sleep well and I am forgetting things.

I have had a full blood count done, alongside Liver, Kidney and Thyroid function. One of my white blood cells is below the recommended norm which I raised with my gp and he said he would only be concerned if it was high.  I have started to take a multivitamin supplement for my immune system as I seem to be getting colds and flu regularly (not helped by the fact that we have not had any heating as work since mid January).

I am getting to the point of this post, I promise.

My question is, I have read that taking a L-theanine, ashwagandha and magnesium supplement can help with anxiety and sleep and these can be taken together, but am getting conflicting information as to whether I can take them all with HRT.

Has anyone taken this type of supplement, or indeed another combination that they have felt has helped them whilst also on HRT.

Sorry for the ramble, but I am at my wits end, my GP has said that my bloods are fine, even though some of my readings are either the lower end or higher end of the scale they consider to be normal.

If you look at drugs.com and put in your medication it brings up any other drugs that can't be taken with it  or have a 'be careful' section.
I've tried it when checking what supplements I can take with my levothyroxine.

Also, pharmacists are good at letting you know what supplements you can and can't take with medication.
