Is it possible to change timing of withdrawal bleed?
« on: September 28, 2024, 12:16:16 PM »

I am on sequential utrogestan - 100mcg vaginally days 15-26. My cycle lasts 28 days and then I bleed for 2/3 days. (I’ve no idea if this is a period or ‘withdrawal bleed’ but I don’t think that matters). For the last couple years I experience severe pain on day 2 of the bleed most months which is bad enough to cause me to have to go back to bed.
The problem is I work Wed to Fri. My period starts on a Wed so this pain is on a Thurs and I can’t have the day off every four weeks.
I’m wondering if there is a way I can manipulate the utrogestan to start the bleed earlier? If I stopped taking it a day or two earlier for a few months could I eventually get the bleed to start on the Monday so I would have the severe pain on the Tuesday?

You can try. If it's your own hormones causing the bleed you will still bleed when your body decides (my own cycle was always stronger than the hrt one). If it's a hrt induced bleed it will work but you should change the day you start utr so you still take the full 12 days.

Thank you. I’ll give it a go. And do days 13 to 24 instead…
