Generic estrogen patch
«

My provider prescribed estradot which I had been taking since the start of April. Well in light of all these shortages, all the pharmacy had was generic and shall I say I like it more than the brand name and they are both made by sandoz?? I liked the smaller size of the estradot for sure but the generic is thinner and does not get that gross lint around it….i feel like I’m in a twilight zone…and it’s cheaper. Am I just cray? Anyone experience anything similar (or have a different opinion?)?

Hello Kwhat and welcome to the forum.
Unfortunately I can't help with your specific question though I am sure some knowledgeable ladies will be along soon.
I wanted to say that for some the generic form of Utrogestan ( which is called Gepritex I think ) could be a better option as it appears to have a weaker effect. This may result in bleeding issues for some ladies but for others it could mean fewer progesterone side effects..
Just a thought and I hope you get some answers soon.
Take care.

It's great that the other brand works for you, well known brands are not necessarily "better".
Now you know this works you can seek it out at the pharmacy in future, however I would keep having your prescription written as "estradiol" rather than a brand name, as this gives greater flexibility in the event of supply problems.

What's the generic one? I wasn't aware there patches that aren't a brand name.
