I've got my latest scan results. Since last scan, 5 years ago -
R femur improved 1.8%
L femur improved 0.8%
Spine decreased 2.8%
I'm only just into Osteopenia level for femurs.
Spine T-score is -2.4 (-2.5 = Osteoporosis) so disappointing.
Why have femurs improved and not spine - through gaining weight maybe. I read the scale wrong - I'm 8.9 stone, not 9.9 - should have put my glasses on).
So I have a target - spine improvement in 3 years (when next scan is due).
Royal Osteo Soc website has been useful (thanks CLKD).
I'm re-starting HRT, make sauerkraut (K2), magnesium & vit C supplement (half dose as diet quite good, also worried about histamine levels with Vitamin C and Oestrogen - have to see how it goes), already take Turmeric for neck pain and didn't know it may benefit bone mass, so a bonus.
I've done regular strengthening exercises for over 20 years so will have to look specifically at exercises for strengthening the spine.
It's not just the fracture risk - I'd like to keep a straight back too

HellsBells - re testosterone and progesterone stimulating osteoblasts... Do you know if adding progesterone (Utrogestan) would benefit or is the Mirena enough - or where I can find that info?
