Hyalofemme Vaginal Gel
« on: March 24, 2024, 11:05:42 AM »

Hi. Has anyone used Hyalofemme for vaginal dryness and found it works.

Been using Blissel Gel for 6 weeks and it has moistened things but I still have the awful burning/soreness. Its so bad I feel like crying. Had awful thrush when on Ovestin/Vagifem in past so was really hoping the Blissel Gel would work. I've spent a fortune on emoliments, creams, gels (yes, sylk, honey & bee, vmagic etc etc)  but nothings stops the pain.

Spoke to GP on phone Thursday (can't get to see her) who is the only one in my practice that deals with menopause and she said she can't think of anything else to use so I will have to see a gynaecologist that deals with menopause but the waiting list here is 20 weeks.

So that's why I was wondering if anyone has used Hyalofemme because i am so desperate for some relief from this awful burning/soreness.
Thanks.

Why would VA treatment cause candida [thrush]  :-\

Have U inserted 'blissel' internally ?  (always read that as a Bissell  ::)

U need to see a dedicated menopause specialist, do look up the Qualifications and specialities of the gynae that your GP is going to refer you on the hospital website, so sooner rather than later.

How long after inserting VA treatment do you get thrush symptoms?  At the end of each period I would get intense itching high up which lasted about 24 hours: when I stopped The Pill I had my first incidence of thrush for which I was given a pessary.  The other time I was affected was after emergency admission to have my appendix removed  ::) again treated with a pessary - no idea what was in it.

Canastan however made my nethers burn  :o so I had to sit in a cooling bath for a couple of hours  ::).

Hi cebe, I hadn't heard of this until you've mentioned it. I've just been googling (as you do) and it seems to have been around a few years and has good reviews.
I don't try anything until I read genuine reviews....so might give it a try myself.
I have been looking for something new to try that is non hormonal.
Also says it is available  on prescription from the NHS so I'd like to think it has been thoroughly tested

If any of you belong to the Vaginal Atrophy Facebook support group, there are some Hyalofemme users on there. I think overall they find it very helpful.  Not used it myself, though.

Is this just for internal use or can it be used externally?? Ive noticed this weekend and only since  ovestin has plumped up externally, that Ive had discomfort  when wearing jeans, like a rubbing feeling. Absolutely fine when not wearing things with hard seams down there but Ive not had this problem before.

It sounds like Replens, in that it adheres to the vaginal walls and you apply every 3 days. I wonder how that affects absorbing estrogen meds?
