Feeling Rubish !!
« on: March 17, 2024, 07:12:43 AM »

Hi I am new to this but need some help please. I have felt ill for 5 years after having a racing heart beat of 216 bpm twice in a matter of 5 months blue lighted to hospital and having cardioversions on both occasions then being under the heart specialist and having every test going they couldn't find anything wrong !! They thought i might have Atrial Fibrillation but when my heart wasn't racing it was quite slow my heart rate seem to average 50 bpm (which is to slow i think and am very breathless when doing anything). I was on the mini pill for years but stopped in 2019 didn't have periods while on it just now and again.  I've never suffered with bad periods all my life GP gave me a blood test to see if i was going through the menopause and it came back that i was perimenopausal so they decided to start me on Evorel Sequi Patches in March 2021 but they gave me periods like i have never had before so heavy so i read that you can cut them in half which i did and they were much better in the meantime my GP referred me to the menopausal clinic this took me 14 months to get a telephone conversation !! They then referred me to go for a hysteroscope to check there was nothing going on so in Oct 2023 i went to have this procedure done and they fitted a merina coil but told me to stop the patches until i seen the menopausal clinic who would advise me on any other HRT i might need. In January 2024 i got an appointment to go the clinic and they told me i should have been on the patch still but only the Evorel Conti for 6 months then change to the other one. So put the patch on and felt so ill even more breathless then usual i came off it after 2 days !! so went back to my GP in February 2024 who started me on Oestrogel 750mg 1 pump but still feel crap !! still breathless, heart banging around when laying in bed i feel the bad moving sometimes feel like its stopping and feel crap in general. Sorry for the long post but I don't know where to turn to GP's just don't seem to know enough on the subject !!

Morning.  It would seem that those in the menopause clinic didn't keep to the same script either  ::)  :(

:welcomemm:  If the HRT is making you ill then stop it.  Give your body a break.  It mayB that you don't require any 'extra' replacement if your own hormones are still active.

Tell us more: do you have to work, how old you are, which symptom would you like to ease?  Peri-menopause - those years when 'the change' begins until the last bleed = menopause.

Sorry that you're feeling rubbish. Keep going with it! Speak to menopause clinic and discuss different options and hopefully others with more experience will have more suggestions for you.

To speed things up as GPs didn't take me seriously over a number of years I went private, once I got info and med advice, GP was forwarded the info and then I got prescriptions through NHS.   I started out on Evorel patches but after 10 months, my skin became too sensitive for them. Then tried the gel and jaw went numb, had an hrt break, had covid and hormones went haywire. Now on Lenzetto and Utro, it's not perfect and I need to tweak my dosage as can see signs of past symptoms coming up but I'm nervous of tweaking it!  Im still learning so will see how I go.

Good luck with it, I hope you're able to find a regime, whether it be on hrt or off it that suits you soon.

Delso - mayB put the product names into the search box: individually : and read appropriate threads, make notes ;-).  Some find that not increasing too much at once helps, i.e. alternate nights or every 4th night - the threads should give more advice than I am able to  ::)
