Hello all,

Been battling for years with her perimenopause symptoms. I am aged 45 now. My top 3 symptoms at the moment are severe PMS, insomnia and heavy bleeding. 🥹

I have been placed on a very high amount of oestrogen by a well known clinic. I need help to reduce down the doses and get me to my optimum oestrogen to progesterone ratio? What is the best way to reduce my oestrogen doses? Does anyone have any experience of this? I am sensitive to hormones.

Current HRT regime
Morning 6am a total of 5mg Sandrena gel, 3mg are rubbed into my arms and forearms. 2mg is rubbed into my inner thighs. 0.5ml of androfemme.

Evening 6.30pm/ 7pm a total of 5mg Sandrena gel, 3mg are rubbed into my arms and forearms. 2mg is rubbed into my inner thighs

9.30pm 2 x 100 mg utrogestan taken daily.

Please can you lovely ladies help❤️. I would be very grateful! Thanks

Hello Angelasurrey.

That is a lot of Oestrogen. Are you using ten, 1 mg sachets a day?

I assume  your clinic have yet to advise you about lowering your dose.

I can't help with your specific question but whenever I have wanted to reduce Sandrena gel I have done it by using half a sachet at a time. I think some ladies do the same thing and re seal the sachet and use the remaining half for the next dose. I tried this but the second half dose seemed very little so perhaps I wasn't sealing it properly and some of the gel was evaporating overnight. Recently I was on half a sachet but I discarded the unused half which is a waste but I just could not get the measurements right.

There has been mention of jewellery scales that you can buy cheaply on Amazon and some ladies are using these to measure their doses.

Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will be along soon to help you.

Wishing you well and take care.

I'm interested to know if you've had your levels tested.

I've never heard of a dose that high.

Have you had scans?
