Hello, I have just joined and in desperate need of help please. I’m 52 and wondering whether I’m suffering from depression or peri menopause or both?
browse round. Make notes. U can be as miserable, worried, stressed as U want on here. Nowt is taboo and hopefully, sharing will help.
I lost my sister a year and a half ago to cancer, the same cancer that took my Dad 13 years ago
. is the disease hereditary?
also over the last few years have had my son (now 19) turn against me for reasons I do not understand.
. R U in touch with him at all? Maybe if so, write a letter explaining how sorry you are etc. and [if you are willing], that when he is ready U have a listening ear. that you can't solve every problem in the World but that you may be able to source support should he require it.
My daughter (13) is a lovely happy child. My partner doesn’t say a lot but he does listen bless him coz I can be very moody with him. My mother lives miles away. Don’t feel I have anyone to talk to or open up to.
. You're here now!
I also work as a HCA in a care home which I quite honestly hate the job. . The care industry is very difficult to negotiate: lack of support etc.. Is it recently that you have started to hate the work?
My periods waxed and waned for several years until they stopped. Hot flushes were a nuisance for about 4 months after, my body itches occasionally: lack of oestrogen, probably : and I developed vaginal atrophy - do read the threads about that. As oestrogen levels drop the body may become dry: inside and out - skin, deep in the ears, nostrils, scalp, vagina - and the muscles may become lax = aches and pains. U may benefit from HRT. In the mean time do try some pain relief to keep you less painful, as well as making time to walk in the sunshine to top up VitD levels.
GPs can request thyroid function and VitD level blood tests as well as a general health screening. Some blood tests may show where you are hormonally. However, these are reliably un-reliable
