Thanks all, so many great suggestions, I feel so much more positive. Never even heard of electric shock therapy. Good to know that there are options and it doesn’t have to be a steady slide down hill.
I also met someone last night who had plantar fasciitis but it went away after she lost 4 stone  ::)

Hi Fiftyplus
Yes was NHS and done in physio dept  (corporeal shock therapy) It was suggested by an orthopaedic consultant because I refused steroid injections You can get it privately through Podiatrists or Physios Usually cost a couple of hundred

Thanks for your reply Kathryn22 - I had pf years ago, it went away and now it is back, I have had 6 private physio sessions and it is better but not totally gone which I would really like x

When trawling around looking for gel insoles  :) I came across something called Plantarcure.
Has anybody tried this? looks like a mini version of this shock therapy treatment, high-frequency waves to the damaged fibres.
Lordy, time to do some research while I'm doing my foot exercises....

Well spotted Minnie Mouse - I use Pro 11 insoles in my trainers which my physio recommended.  I also use a roller thing and do exercises.  I have no pain but I can feel the plantar is still inflammed

Hi All
Agree with all these comments
Do the exercises
Lose a bit of weight
Use good gel insoles
Swap your shoes around especially in the summer
Not sure about the DIY machine Plantacure, think it might be better done by a professional
It’s a condition that can come and go, but just when you think it’s gone, you wear the wrong shoes and bang its back.
Hope you get sorted

Thanks, now wearing hard core industrial shoes (even around the house  ;D)
Seems to help.
Determined to beat this!
