Saturday 16 September to Sunday 24 September

I've been on the register for over 30 years in case of accident - they can take what they, in order to help others.  I wear an SOS bracelet stating this.

I've carried a card for years.  I thought it was now a question of opting out since the law changed. 
Having seen this thread i think i will register again online as a card seems out of date now.

Its on 'opt out' as you say now. So we are all covered to donate unless you decide to opt out.

Or unless relatives decide that they don't agree with your wishes  >:( and as there is no central NHS computer system, many people won't be offered up - 1 of the ideas of the central system was for Staff 2 B able 2 check who is on/off.

It needs to be discussed well in advance on an 'in case' basis, MinL was horrified when I began carrying a donor card at age 17.  I also had a driving licence with it on ..... and wear my SOS bracelet or necklace.

Anything will do.  Depending upon which website one reads: cornea, skin, organs, ear drums I think I read.  If the body ain't offered, it can't be used.  Or leave it to medical science.  It's not as easy as it ought to be!

Corneas might possibly be OK, everything else past it's sell by date, ear drums dodgy. Don't think the 20 year old they give my wrinkly skin to will like it much! They can take what they want anyway unless you opt out but they'll still give you back the bits they don't want so you can pay to dispose of it yourself.
