Hello !
Just found this forum and thought I would  post a query as there are so many nice replies on here .

I suffered badly from PMT every month and thought that all things being equal I would be let off lightly when the menopause kicked in- have had it for about 2 years now and am 55.
How wrong I was  !  ;D

Have all symptoms with a vengance - flushes , night sweats etc but the one thing that drives me mad is the anxiety, feeling down and inability to manage day to day things like I used to.
Is it possible that  progesterone  plays more of  a big a part in this meno thing than oestrogen? I know it was progesterone that caused the worse PMT.
I am not a fan of HRT ( breast cancer in family)  so have tried all the natural remedy things with varying and usually disappointing levels of success.
Thanks to anyone who reads this!

Hi SilverPixie
 :welcomemm:
I think the answer is that no-one knows and it's different for everyone! Sorry!
I'm on HRT and find that the prog. seems to help me the most - same for those ladies who are trying the natural prog. cream. Many others report that it's the prog. part of HRT which causes their problems.
It was the "anxiety, feeling down and inability to manage day to day things like I used to" as well as increased IBS problems which led me to try HRT and it has helped me a lot but I can understand your feelings about it - many others on here feel the same. Can I ask if you know if the breast cancer in your family was hormone-based? If not, it might be worth re-visiting the HRT issue.

Hi jayne
 :welcomemm:
"I realise I'm not mad after all" - I think that's the most common reaction when we come here for the 1st time - isn't it great?  ;D

Hi Newbies - A Warm Welcome to you all :bighug:

I joined the Forum in November, around the time when I reluctantly started HRT.  Both choices have helped me immensely.

Being part of this group is such a benefit, it's encouraging, interesting, funny and so supportive.  There's so much to read.

Enjoy, join in and try not to be too hard on yourselves.  We are all different and this site really does help.

As for anxiety issues - I think it's the worst part of the meno.

Looking forward to your input.
