I'm same has Emm225 - not on HRT after second failed attempt.   Meno brought on the acid reflux and GERD for me.... nightmare.

Mine wasn't HRT related but I ignored it and ended up with an ulcerated oesophagus so my advice is to get it checked out. Any change in digestive symptoms lasting more than a few weeks should be investigated really just to rule out any serious problem. Tomatoes always upset mine and chocolate and wine and all the nice things  ;D

This gives a good explanation of what happens to our acid level during perimenopause. https://agutsymenopause.com/resources/acid-reflux-and-menopause https://agutsymenopause.com/resources/acid-reflux-and-menopause

Hi Taz 2, I had all the scans, cameras and blood tests and all were normal.    I'm not sure I have the full blown GERD but do mostly follow low alkaline diet but still have bit of chocolate now and then.   Cannot take the PPI meds as they make me really unwell with severe reactions and control it with diet and Gaviscon.    Also, counter intuitatively, I read about drink fresh lemon juice diluted in cooled boiled water after a meal - did it and it reduces/neutrialises the acid....

Have you been given an endoscopy to check for hiatus hernia or ulceration?

Taz 2 not yet I have to finish the course of meds first and if they don't help I have to get a endoscopy
