Dr John Lee recommdations ?
« on: July 21, 2022, 08:50:21 PM »

Hi everyone,
I have been taking 20mg natural Progesterone with wild yam per day along with 0.5 mg Sandrina- Estrogen  gel (nhs).
I felt a lot better when I started this ratio which is recommended by Dr John Lee (American Menopause - now deceased)
However, the last 8 wks have not been good: it's like I'm back to how I was b4 taking John Lee's recommendations. I'm so exhausted, very anxious, depressed and weepy.
Are there any members here tried Dr Lee's approach to hrt?
Please help- I am really struggling.

Ask your GP for a referral to a UK dedicated menopause Clinic.  There are waiting lists.

Booblet, how old are you and where are you in the menopause?   It could be that your oestrogen levels have dropped further and you need to increase your dose.

I would start by increasing the Sandrena and see if that helps.   You might also need to increase the progesterone dose but I would start by increasing the gel.

Hi Booblet,

i've just seen your post and yes, I have followed Dr Lee's approach. I started with progesterone cream which worked very well for many months. I then started getting light night sweats which were very bothersome and having read his book, it suggests that oestrogen may be needed in these cases. I've bought estriol/estradiol cream (online) and now use a swipe of this at night. This works perfectly and i feel great with this combination.

I should add that initially I went to a menopause specialist who prescribed patches/utrogestan and felt shocking so stopped after a few weeks. It was then that i did my own research and very happy to have found something that works for me.
