It was written about a couple that my Mum knew ;-).  But the story 'went on a bit' beyond what actually happened  ::).  I did enjoy it.

Any1 watch Anton and Giovanni this week, also the Hospital programme based in Leeds and we are into the genealogy story with a pair of celebs.

I had no idea it was based on a true story! How lovely.

Oti and Motsi were on DNA Journey last night - so interesting, I would love to see them tell their Dad what has been found  8)

Is any1 able to explain Charlie, the fox, mole and horse ......... twice now I've watched it and I simply don't 'get it'  :-\.  Why isn't someone out looking for the child .......... as well as putting that horse into a stable when there's a storm.  Is there a 'point' to it?  The book has been in the Best Seller lists for months!

Watched the 2nd part of Agatha Christie's "Why Didn't They Ask Evans?" It's quite good. One more episode to go. I recognised the lead male in it but couldn't think where I'd seen him before. It was The Revenant that he was in.
Now that was a good film 👌

It's a book about relationships and friendships and kindness. I used it a lot in my work with children. You don't get the whole story from the film though and in the front of the book is an explanation of what it means. It is fantasy and not meant to be taken literally. For instance the boy is lonely and he meets the mole. They spend time in the wild and the wild is a bit like life - frightening sometimes but also beautiful. The fox is wary as he has been hurt by life before. The horse, of course, is the biggest thing any of them have met but he is the gentlest. The setting is in early spring where the weather can change suddenly from snow to sun to storms - again a bit like life where everything can change in an instant. I think that one thing which is missed out in the film is the horse saying "The truth is of course that everyone is winging it"  It is a fab book for children (and adults too) who may be struggling with aspects of trust and self belief and also helps us to learn that to ask for help is actually a very brave thing to do. I've just watched it again in iPlayer  ;D
