Masks- Effects on children
« on: June 15, 2022, 07:35:14 AM »

Has anyone seen this study on the effects of mask wearing on children?
The study was conducted whilst children were at rest doing no physical exercise. Worth scrolling down to see the conclusions at the end.

Oh no, pretty damning conclusion:

In conclusion we have produced experimental data that show that carbon dioxide content in inhaled air rises on average to 13,000 to 13,750 ppm no matter whether children wear a surgical or an FFP2 mask. This is far beyond the level of 2,000 ppm considered the limit of acceptability and beyond the 1,000 ppm that are normal for air in closed rooms. This estimate is rather on the low side, as we only measured this after a short time without physical exertion. Decision makers and law courts should take this into consideration when establishing rules and guidance to fight infections.

Yes ATB. Must be even worse for children with pre existing respiratory conditions. xx

How awful. To think we did this without first thinking about negative health impacts… first do no harm and all that. It’s like one big experiment on our kids. Thank god mine was in their final year when it started.

That is scary.
As someone who has had to wear ffp2 masks since i was very young in hospital settings due to cross infections & still have to wear them now, due to covid & my pre existing lung health (CF), it probably explains my intense headache after I've worn one.
Unfortunately, they are the rules in my cf unit.

It’s a difficult one for you to get your head round I’m sure Sheri.
Perhaps worth flagging up with a print out of the study when you’re next in that situation.
Ultimately though, it’s you, who should decide what’s best for you x

I suppose headache’s would be a common symptom with carbon dioxide inhalation significantly above the level of acceptability.

Was this at rest or during exercise that he got the headaches?  x

No, basically just shopping or anywhere that required a mask.  He is mildly asthmatic though.
