The future of the NHS

Good article by Polly Toynbee in the Guardian though she's wrong about the dates.  She quotes that nursing training was cut in 2010 but I can go back to the late 1970s early 1980s when radiology trainees were told to fail their exams.; the authority would continue to pay them to study but they were unlikely to get jobs.  The next year that option was no longer available.  So pass or not, very little chance of getting a job due to cuts.

I can't understand why Consultants haven't walked however, as a friend pointed out, they wouldn't bite the hand ...... with many of them having children in local schools etc. - I still blame them though, though when the one I worked for tried to get more help for his secretaries, it was ignored due to 'funding issues'.  Too many managers even then!

When does shortage of staff become an unsafe working practice, recognised in Wales but not in England?
