“I did what you told me”.

What is it about my OH and maybe other men?

i was making bacon rolls and he was hovering about so I said “would you slice the bread rolls in half”.  He literally did just that.  I then had to butter them and put them on plates.  ::)

I am sure most women would have finished the job but he claims he did just what I told him to.

Yep.  You get what you ask for ........ unless the request is followed up by 'and'  ::)

How did you feel - were you annoyed or did you giggle inwardly?

Yep, you have to be VERY specific with your instructions.
This video is funny, the dad follows the kids instructions to the letter, just shows exactly how much detail you really need to give someone!

Great video! A good laugh!

Yes, it can be a man thing! Or a teenager thing as well. They follow instructions to the letter and no more.

I have to say DH is slowly improving, with me not being well all the time. He now wipes the kitchen surfaces after putting stuff in the dish washer and has two signature dishes that he cooks. Sometimes he doesn’t seem to see items that should go in the dish washer or need to be put away and I wonder why!

One thing I have learnt is to thank him. Yes, I know I don’t get thanked, but as an early years teacher I learnt that praise encourages and nagging is non productive! If it works with little ones, then it works with adults!!! ;D You could say I’m manipulative!
