Peri-menopause - the years, 10+ sometimes, leading up to the 'menopause' - literally the last menstrual bleed. Ever. But - no one is menopausal until they have had at least 12 months without any kind of bleed or show. Peri - when symptoms may become troublesome.
A natural drop in oestrogen levels may cause dryness: inside and out; skin, vagina, deep in the ears, nostrils, eyes, scalp - as well as muscles may become lax = aches and pains. Over the counter pain relief can help.
