Blood test results
« on: June 21, 2021, 07:32:37 PM »

I know blood tests are unreliable but I have had one each time I have changed my HRT as my absorption is quite poor, they are:
275 on 3 pumps
174 Everol 50
357 3mg Sandrena
529 4 mg Sandrena
None of the above have made me feel great , awaiting Newson appt but that’s not til September !
Currently back on 3 pumps Oestradiol but now worrying I’m going backwards looking at my old results !
Any advise welcome

Maybe you need a combination of patch and gel? Have you tried the patch at 75 or 100? Maybe with a pump of gel as a top up?

I am now thinking that HRT is not the silver bullet I once thought and maybe it is a case of working out which symptoms you can cope with and which you cannot. For example. mine are flushes and anxiety, which has affected driving big time. I am in the process of trying to get that under control and I know it is hormone related!

There is the implant which may or may not be available on the NHS?
Lenzetto spray? How did you feel on sandrena as that is meant to be stronger than the oestrogel?

It’s very hard to know what to do! Can’t seem to settle on anything! I hadn’t thought about the patch and gel to be honest, I know I need to do something a ms again this is not working! Just getting through each day not loving life. Does anyone do patch and gel, I didn’t know you could do that? I felt a bit better on Sandrena but not right I felt maybe it was too strong but looking back where I am now maybe it is the higher/ stronger dose I need. Will have a read about the spray

Lenzetto is meant to be quick and easy to use. You spray on your forearm and it dries in seconds.
Some women I believe use patch and top up with gel. I am not sure if this is recommended though??

It might be that you do need the stronger dose as you say. One lenzetto spray is the equivalent to a 50 dose patch I think. Worth a shot?

Thank you Nas, I may look into another clinic if I don’t get a cancellation appt from Newson clinic! September is such a long way off, although I really wanted to go there as I’ve heard such positive remarks about it. Will do a bit of research today into the Lenzerro spray

Lenzetto is weaker.  Have you got enough gel to go up or patch and gel? Are you peri or post?  It sounds like you need more if you still have symptoms. I’m on spray, gel and tablet, I don’t absorb well and still the same symptoms.

Dr Lewis from Newsons has mentioned that there is a 10 fold difference in absorption levels. If you absorb poorly a lot more is needed.

Hi Floo36
I have lots of gel, my GP gives me 4 per prescription! I’m peri and have tried most things! The only one i didn’t really give a chance was the patch as it sent me crazy and wired so I ripped it off after 3 weeks! All the other regimes I’ve done for advised 3 months! What a waste of time!I truly believe I need lots more as poorly absorb!

Flan, what about the implant? Now I am not sure what the score is with having one on the NHS, but essentially, it is ( I think) like a grain of rice inserted under your skin and removed every few weeks or (or months).

Which patch did you use and at what dose?

As you say, September is ages off when you are feeling rubbish. Google the BMS and see what you can find which may see you quicker?

Some women just don't absorb well and need inordinate amounts of gel etc
What about oral HRT? Some women do well on that?

Hi Nas I was originally started on oral HRT(Femostan2mg) when this all started in 2019! It certainly helped reduce a lot of my symptoms but with it came the most awful gastric problems, I have it a good 3 months but never settled. I also tried Zumenon at nighttime with the gel during the day but again stomach issues. Not heard of the implant so will have a look into that

Yes it’s hard Flan. I’m in the same boat. Tried gel and felt awful, patches are making me bleed all the time and I can’t seem to take oral due to breast cancer. I know I need Hrt but fear in not suited to it either! It’s hell.

I’m under Chelsea and Westminster Hospital but going to see a private specialist soon for advice as I can’t carry on this way.

It’s a long process and our journeys started the same time ( 2019) it seems xxxx

It really is hard going! I am relying so much on my appointment in September? It’s going to cost a bit but I’m hoping it will be well worth the money! Good luck to you let us know how things go xx
