Sandrena and switching methods
« on: July 05, 2021, 07:59:52 AM »

Hi.  Entered surgical menopause 3yrs ago.  Was on Estradot patches and other than a few symptoms (not sleeping, anxiety, hair loss) and low levels (about 186pmol) was generally ok.
Was switched to Sandrena gel almost 3wks ago.   (1.5mg to start up to 2mg) Felt ok the first week, last week experienced migraines (although these may have been weather related).  This week my hands feel arthritic, mass hair loss on washing, think I had my first proper hot flush in the night and some general aches.
Has anyone else experienced this when switching from one form to another?   Know it says 3months to see a difference but presumed that was from going from no HRT onto it, not moving from one kind to another.  Guessing that patches were continuous release whereas this has to build up in system?    Has anyone stuck with it and noticed an improvement?     How long did it take?    Pain waiting the 30+ mins for it to dry in so if not going to be beneficial will look at going back to patches.
