Hi please can I ask if anyone has been prescribed Testavan gel (Testosterone) . I have recently been prescribed this by my NHS GP. I am struggling to find out any details about dosage and I’m questioning the dosage my GP has quoted as it says one pump per night which is equivalent to 23mg of Testosterone which seems a lot to me when compared with the Testogel sachets for example. I was very grateful to be offered this by my GP but she made it very clear that this is a tad out of her comfort zone so that’s why I’m doing my best to find out whatever I can about it and the correct dosage. I can’t find anything via the nice guidelines so any info/experiences would be very much appreciated! Thank you

Hi this sounds far too potent for use by females . Tostran gives you 10mg per pump and the recommended dose is one pump 3 times a week. A sachet of Testogel contains 50mg of gel and it is advised that it lasts 10-14 days .

Hi Justine. Your Testavan post was almost identical to one I posted on another forum.
Did you resolve your dosage issue. So confusing isn’t it?! 
I now do 1 pump divided into 3 days. Not sure if that’s too much but my specialist said do 1 between 2 days but I didn’t want to!

Could she change the prescription to Tostran or testogel? As they're more widely used there's more info about the dosage. I use Tostran one pump every other day.
