Symptoms again
« on: April 20, 2021, 08:06:51 PM »

Hi ladies I have been on HRT Evoril Continue from age 53 to age 62. I decided to come off it at the beginning of the year and I feel like some old symptoms have returned, ie: night sweats, fuzzy headed, itching, feeling odd, and fatigue. Is this normal when stopping even though I would have been well through the menopause when I stopped. ☹️

It isn't unusual to get a return of symptoms. Sadly oestrogen deficiency is for life.

Why did you stop?

MayB keep a chart for a few weeks, symptoms may settle.  You can go back on if necessary though your GP may be reluctant to prescribe.

CKLD my sister was diagnosed with breast DCIS (ductile Carcinoma in situ) and I thought it best if I stopped it with it being a close relation.

How is your sister?

I don't think there is a firm connection - it was reported that women should be more aware if it's a close relative but I would ask a menopause specilalist if symptoms become troublesome.  Quality of Life?

Hi CLKD sorry forgot to say my sister has come through it thankfully. They gave her the choice of keeping an eye on it as it is a slow growing cancer but she decided on a mastectomy, she just wanted it out of her body. Thanks for asking xx
