Yeah, I think, too, instigating a request for a dietician/nutritionist shows a WILLINGNESS to them and makes you feel you're actively doing something about it. That's a great bit of "feedback" to give yourself. Also, just getting someone knowledgeable on board lets you kind of hand it over, a kind of "I can't do this on my own" message? Have you structure in your day? Can you factor in short walks just now to that structure? It's difficult, I know, but you really do have it in you to find that warrior. Good luck!

My tuppence worth...

I find cold turkey easiest. If I have a, little chocolate, I can't stop eating it.

First 3 days are the worst.

I now have a couple of boiled sweets to suck... That seems to work OK suck them slowly for the sweet hit.
