Hi Julia, have you had any side effects on Fluconazole? Glad it worked for you, I couldn't finish the treatment.

Ohhh Joanie Pat, my GP gave me a course of fluconazole for a persistent bout of thrush which got rid of it...but I am on 10mg Pravastatin too??? She never mentioned any contraindication??
I take 10mg Atorvastatin. The instruction from my GP says "Do not take Atorvastatin whilst taking this." I believe it lessens the effect of the statin.

Uptick no I didn't have any side effects luckily and it did get rid of the thrush after a weeks course. Fingers crossed not had it again since.

Thanks Joaniepat, I'll remember to stop my statins for a bit if I ever have to take Fluconazole again!

There was one occasion then I did (initially) have problems getting a Canesten tablet given I was over 60. When I mentioned I was on ABs for a dental problem I got the Canesten.

The pharmacist explained that thrush could underlie other significant issues - think Diabetes was metnioned
