As from 1st January travellers will no longer be able to take 2 or bring back from certain foodstuffs from mainland Europe.

Lorry drivers will be particularly badly affected.  Many are self contained in their cabs but will not be allowed to carry cheese, dairy or meat products from the UK to Europe.  What alters on the 1st Jan to make foodstuffs unsafe is nowt, other than Europe being childish about us leaving !?!?!  :-\

It has long been illegal to transport food etc. from African counties and non-Europe countries ....... supposedly to stop F&Mouth and anthrax in particular. 

I can't see the above being a problem for us until about Easter but worth looking at your plans for transporting food especially those that have properties in France and Spain.  There will be changes in the Green Card system too.

We are leaving the EU not Europe (unless you think that we will be located on the other side of the world from Jan 1st). The EU is not being childish. We will simply be bound by a multitude of new rules/regulations due to no longer being EU members. It was the choice of certain UK citizens....... !  ???

It isn't a United Kingdom now that governments have been devolved.  But someone should have looked ahead and got all together so that the country is locked down at the same time.

It's because we have to be punished for leaving the EU. At least they haven't started burning live sheep again yet. Perhaps it's time for a tunnel to Holland so Macron can't throw his weight about so much (small man syndrome?).

They can protest as much as they like but deliberately burning live animals is beyond the pale.

Warning non-pc joke.
Why is it that all the fish in the English channel belong to the French but all the migrants belong to the UK?  ;D

True.  Absolutely ..........

This hold-up at the Channel on our side is due to Brexit most likely.  Lorries are headed into the UK ......... go figure.   How does the mutation suddenly become a problem - any drivers who have travelled into France will have carried it already  :-\.  Horse.  Stable door.  Bolted.  Again?

Some ski resorts are open for locals.  Restrictions will hit this area of tourism a lot.
