:bighug:  how is he feeling?  Is he going up with friends?  If he wobbles, tell him "You will be OK once you get there".

Do you have plans to keep busy all day ?

Yes. I'm working from home tomorrow.

He seems fine. Going from small village school to the big school. He's a quiet lad. But I hope he'll be fine.

Just thought I'd put it out there  :)

I was a mess today. Even hid in a Bush watching the school bus go this morning 🤣. He's come home on top of the world. Phew.

Large glass of wine now in hand. This is not easy whilst going through peri 🤪

Glad to hear that he had a good day.  :) I still have both of mine at home for another three weeks, but i know that i will probably have a little cry on their first day back.  ::)

My nephew starts secondary next month. I remember my change of schools so well even though it was so long ago.

Such an exciting time for them, so stressful for you!  ;D  I had the same feeling when my youngest started high school (he's going into his 4th year at university in September).  He wasn't the most social guy, he was unsure of himself and pretty self conscious. He made it through the first tough 2 weeks and then he never looked back.  He made lifelong friends and gained so much self confidence.  Now that he's almost done university, he barely comes home at all!   :'(

Thanks all. My boy is very quiet too. He is a lovely lad, but takes time to make friends.

He loved yesterday, hopefully the next few weeks he will talk to some folks.

I'm emotionally exhausted. Lol. It felt like it was all for yesterday and now the thought of getting him out the door so early every day with that bag packed is pretty horrific 🤣. Hey ho. His brother is still in primary, so all good there.

We are Scotland, as you might have guessed. Schools feel pretty normal, just lots more handwashing and the little ones are kept in class bubbles. My eldest needs to wear a mask on the school bus, but seems fine with that.  ;)

After nearly six months off, the early mornings will be hard for the first few weeks, i'm sure. DD (14) is pretty good and gets herself up and ready fine, DS (13) on the other hand needs a gentle kick up the @rse most mornings.

Both of mine went from a very small, village Primary to a huge Secondary and i was concerned for both of them because they too are rather quiet kids, but by Christmas, they both had a lovely set of new friends and are doing really well.
DD is just about to start her GCSE subjects and can't wait to get back, DS is not so keen, but he'll be fine once he gets back into a routine.
