Ultrasound all done...Update #3
« on: August 12, 2020, 04:28:20 PM »

Finally had my scan(s) today, it wasn't so bad. The worst part was the full bladder.  The doctor should get the results later today.

Now I wait... :sweatdrop:

I guess it's because this kind of stuff has gone digital so the doctors get somewhat immediate results.  I was rather surprised myself when the technician told me.

Just spoke with my GP, I do have a bit of a cyst on one of the ovaries, but that's not causing the bleeding.  There is a thickened area in the endometrium that is bleeding. He's sending me to a gynacologist and I may need a D&C to get rid of the thickened tissue.  Not the best news but not the worst I suppose.

Tnx for the update.  How long will you have to wait for the procedure?

Hello C.C.

I'm glad to hear  that your scan went well.

About fifteen years ago my SIL had a D&C and she hasn't had any problems since.

Hopefully all will go well for you.

Wishing you well.

K.

Thanks ladies :)  I'm not certain the D&C will be the treatment, that was doctor's assumption.  The specialist might suggest something else. No word yet on an appoinment date. I should hear within the week.

Good luck CC they may suggest further tests, eg hysteroscopy before taking any action.

That could very well be the case.  I hope I won't have to wait too long, the bleed seems to be getting heavier and I'm more crampy today.  :o

I have an appointment with the gynecologist for later this afternoon.  My GP just faxed the referral yesterday :o

I'm glad I didn't have to wait too long.

Just got home from the appointment with the gynecologist. He was nice enough to stay late just so he could see me. He didn't want me to stress and worry longer that I should. My GP marked urgent on my scan results, that must have got his attention.  We had a good chat and he diagnosed me with hyperplasia. He said I have low risk for uterine cancer but he wanted to be thorough went ahead and did a scraping (I'm still cramping from that).  So depending on what the results say, I could have the D and C and that would be that. If it's precancerous then it's a hysterectomy. Either way I will end up having some sort of surgery.
I asked him about the cyst on the ovary, he wasn't concerned because he has no frame of reference and has no idea how long it's been there.  He said it could have come from a final fling of that ovary during meno, caused by  many reasons, including my weight loss.

He said the results should be in sometime next week. He said not to worry-???

So what will you opt for?   Do get as much HRT advice from him as possible ;-).  Do you feel supported, he sounds nice from where I am ....

Do you have a warm bath and pain relief to ease the cramping?  Hysterectomy is major surgery ............

:foryou: what does the rest of the day hold?

Well, I would rather have the D&C, of course, but if the biopsy shows precancer, then he will do the hysterectomy.

I did feel supported and reassured, which was a relief somewhat.  He also said there is atrophy and my bladder has dropped.  He's also going to help me out with the uncomfortable sex situation when the time is right. Maybe we'll talk about HRT then.
I took an extra-strength Advil so it's kicking in now.  Dinner and then resting on the couch til bedtime is the rest of my day now. :)
Forgot to mention- He said the D&C could be done within 4 weeks, but the hysterectomy would be done right away.

Hi!  get some topical vaginal atrophy treatment ?  Do read the threads here ;-).

Dull this morning and I feel hung over due to busy dreams.  I suspect you may well feel thus after Advil?

I will talk to the doc about that next time I see him for sure. :)

The Advil worked well so yes, I felt better soon after taking it.  The bleeding has stopped..for now. :jiggy:
