Hi

I'm just wondering if anybody has experience of Mast cell stabilisers used for histermine intolerance? X

Hi Bobidy, I was on Nalcrom for a short while, along with extremely high dose antihistamine, also tried Quercitin (H&B). This was when I was under Immunology after seeing other specialists following GP & others discounting my peri symptoms to be meno!! I was query MCAS due to an elevated methylhistamine urine sample. Have you been diagnosed or are you just doing your research for now? x

Hello ladies

Bobidy - If histamine problems can be identified from a urine sample could you persuade your GP to organise that for you. If not could it be done privately?

I was thinking about my old colleague who controlled his migraines by changing his diet and wondered if drinking a  smoothie would impact histamine levels at all? It's probably a silly and simplistic idea but if vitamin C lowers histamine then it might be worth trying as an experiment.

As you can tell I know very little on the subject of Histamine intolerance but I thought the idea was worth a mention and apologies if it seems silly lol.

Wishing you well.

Hi ladies

Thanks for responding.

I've not been diagnosed yet and really I'm trying not to just fit myself into that box but it seems like a real possibility as I've had multiple issues for donkeys years. Trying to get a diagnosis seems to be really difficult from what I've read. I'm kind of loathed to spend yet more money going private again.

I've got some allergy testing and blood tests coming up, I'm not sure if this will show anything, hopefully they will do the urine test you have mentioned.

I've changed what I'm eating which is making a real difference and im taking antihistermines but don't want to change too much which may affect any results.

Did you have any joy with Quercetin? I have some of this but again I'm holding off using it until after any tests.

I've slowly reduced my hrt back to a 100 patch as I was up to 6-7 pump equivalent and it seemed to be making things worse, of course as it pushes up histermine levels!!!

I have a feeling this is incredibly common amongst women but it's never diagnosed.

Anyway, any advice gratefully received x

mastcellaction.org was invaluable to me. I had great support from them when I was going through all that. I couldn't really say about the Quercitin as I was on so many different things and it was peri meno the whole time so it wouldn't give you an accurate idea based on me. But I would wait until you have your investigations completed. Let me know how you get on Bobidy. x
