It's when they all stop suddenly and you're left going.......ok what's happened?!?!  Then 2 minutes later they're all at it again

Could well be a hawk going overhead. Our local sparrowhawk can clear our nut feeders in seconds when it goes by.
The birds dive into adjacent bushes, usually re-emerge in a minute.

I've never seen any hawks round here but I'm pretty sure there must be,they definitely know something I don't

It could be something as simple as someone shutting a car door, the birds will flee .......  we have at least 60 siskins

Crows are making such a racket just now,they're all getting a bit sexy on the neighbours roof

That's like our pigeons and collard doves, at it all year round  .

So strange to still have most of the siskins visiting the feeders. They are always gone by the beginning of March in my garden. Beautiful to watch though in their spring colours but their behaviour and language is appalling - some anger management needed there I think!

Interesting because most of the siskins here flew 2 weeks ago, red pols gone too.  Like leaves in the Winter - I wonder where they all go?

I noted that the siskins were acting like grumpy teens B4 they went
