All is forgiven, little dog next door, when you wake me up yapping when you have your late evening toileting in your garden and when you yap at me for daring to go into our garden. No rats ever since you came to live next door!

We get a lot of Reed warblers in the garden. No reeds in the garden! Or water. I enjoy seeing swallows on my walks and listening to skylarks in the fields. Turned on to a pathway and saw a buzzard on the fence post. As it didn’t seem to hear me, I started singing! I wasn’t sure if I startled it, it might attack. Big bird!  ;D It flew off swooping round to take a good look at this strange human!

We used to have several rabbits when the children lived here. Expensive business getting the yearly vaccinations. One of them got fly strike. The vet was ready to put it to sleep, but my DD wasn’t having it. She dug maggots out every day and the rabbit survived and submitted to being cuddled despite not being handled when young as it was given to us as we were soft touches! My DD now has a rehoused sickly bearded dragon. Another survivor because of her loving care.

Birds of prey don't attack.  Even vultures unless you R laying poorly ;-)

Rat seen on night camera as well as during the day.

The buzzards in our local forest (wildlife trust) do attack during the breeding season. They swoop down and scrape their talons over your head. One guy who walks through the forest to our local pub, as I do sometimes, lost his hairpiece.  ;D

;D.  that is quite unusual though several years ago, my sister had a buzzard snatch 2-day old chicks from in front of her.  She phoned me in shock, I was shocked 'cos she rarely contacts me  :D

Did he get his hair piece back or was it used as nesting material ?

Anyone got a small yapping dog I can borrow?? Mine will happily kill water that comes out of a hosepipe but isn't quick enough for a rat. Not keen on poison in case dog eats poisoned rats.

We need a sealyham pack, I know of 1 ...........  ;D but with travelling restrictions, can't employ them. I hate poison, it's cruel and no animal deserves that death.

Maybe the buzzard wouldn’t attack, but it was big and may have reacted in fright!  ::) it might have liked my singing!

Silkys are small, all fluffy.

A red kite took a kitten locally, it was fast asleep on the patio  :o.  Probably thought it was a rabbit!

The buzzard flew off with it   ;D There are warning signs put up during the breeding season as it is committed n for buzzards to protect their territory apparently.

They do take off vertically. Means they can access small spaces without needing a long runway   ;D

:thankyou:  What with the heron, a rat determined not to go into the trap, all we need now are badgers and foxes and we'll have all the pests that we never want in our garden  :bang: :bang: :bang:
