Poor seal  :'( I'm all for dogs being allowed off the lead but they MUST be super obedient, especially if they are a larger breed. I don't care how upset she was,she wasn't in control of her animal,I get sick of hearing owners say......but it's never done that before  >:(

It's a very sad ending to a popular seal.  People buy 'breeds' but don't research what the original purpose was !

Too early to C what my birds etc. are up to - no doubt they will need feeding  :D

daska - the birds may have built half a nest and they won't go back to a box with bedding in.  If you are able to shin up and empty the boxes, they may well take interest ;-)

I've put a few meal worms out in case the blackbird family need something to keep them warm overnight  8)

CLKD the boxes are cleaned every year, not that there's anything to get out, but I do clean them .I did put a bit of sheep's wool in last year, so perhaps that put them off.

I think that birds prefer to take their own material into nesting sites in case what is there is contaminated with bugs etc..

Ok,going to war with the crows today,OH is building a fence type thing,it's going to encase the whole bird feeder, with small holes, only big enough for the little birds to get through, let's see if this stops them.
He said yesterday,go on the forum and ask again about the moles lol so here I am,bloody thing is really making a mess of the lawn now, really don't want to kill it,does anyone know if those probe things work? Think they make a noise to deter them but could be wrong

It depends whether the mole is deaf/not ;-).  Males have a wide terrirtory, if U get rid of 1 another will move in.  At least the heaps are good to pot plants into  :D.  Get your dogs onto them ........... my cocker caught 15 in her Life time  :-*.  Moles can undermine ground which then collapses  :o so don't want any broken ankles jaypo!

It's raining.  I do wonder if the female blackbird can cover her nestlings as they are growing so quickly  ;D

I used a wire hanging basket over the bird feeder so that the larger birds can't reach the meal worms, it took a couple of days for the tits etc. to brave the change and now they queue up  ;D  :-*
