Yes Taz,I can assure you,I've enough for everyone, before I take in my washing I've to flap it loads of times otherwise I take even more in :o I won't kill them so you can imagine it's a nightmare trying to catch them all off the ceiling to throw outside,we've got nets over our door frames now,so hopefully that will stop them :)

Not at this time of year though  :-\

More spawn

I have also two very small tomatoes on the windowsill - self set into a cactii pot  ::)

5 male blackbirds under the feeders earlier with no aggro.  Then it POURED! I wonder if they were stocking up B4 the storm?

Have they all emerged earlier this year? Mine are still snuggled behind the curtains.

We?re just back from the couple across the road from us and they said all the little birds disappeared because there was a sparrow hawk on the go,it was right outside their lodge and it took a little chaffinch :'(

Yep.  Everything has to eat  ::).  We have a female arrive here regularly and sits - waiting.  All the birds disappear until she flies away.  Nature in the raw.

Sometimes.  But usually a sparrow hawk attack is quick. Otherwise it would die ........  ::)

Sparrowhawk's do attack quickly but they are absolutely rubbish at quick dispatch. They are patient though when a prey escapes and can take up to an hour seeking it out again in bushes or undergrowth. Our female one recently made a right mess of killing one of the collared doves  >:(

At what point does a prey animal give up?  Is there a sense of doom or acceptance?  We will probably never know.

Nature in the raw.  Eat or be eaten  ::)

I suppose it's unfair I take the side of the cute ones or the ones lower in the food chain

;D ........... it evens itself out.  Usually it's the weaker that get eaten anyway  ;)

I want my hedgehogs back this year.  There is thought locally that new builds have forced the badgers, even though protected, out of where they have lived for over 50 years into our gardens = eating hedgehogs  :-\.  Hard to find out how robustly the Council looked into the setts B4 Planning Permission was given, even so it would be more likely B over-ruled by London  :'(

Trial camera went out for 2 nights last week: local cats but not even a mouse  :D

Great news that badger culling is to stop. The new system will be to vaccinate cattle.   :)

I've been watching the hares in the morning sun bounding round the red legs like they are cones to go round. There's something so peaceful about the morning sun shining on a frosty field x
