All my chickens were rescued, knew this farmer who always let me know if he had any going for slaughter and I'd come get em,they became so tame but were probably the most spoiled hens in the uk,the best of everything, miss having them 😔

I would worry right now with the fox and badgers in the gardens ........ even though the coop is wired over and under to stop digging.

Could you rescue some more jaypo? https://www.bhwt.org.uk/rehome-some-hens/  When you click on the link the photo is not of a dead hen by the way but of one having it's first dust bath when no longer kept in a cage. The feathers will grow back. Lucky little lady!

Froglife informs me that what I saw with the sudden stiffness and fitting the other night is unusual.

We don't have chickens right now as we are away a lot - I think that jaypo goes travelling too.
I picked up a large bumble bee yesterday: it's been in the garden for 3-4 days, I was going to put it under the microscope. I tried it on some sugar and water earlier but it isn't interested.  It flaps it's legs, doesn't sting and the wings look worn out  :-\

Oh taz,I'd have chickens again in a minute but clkd is right,I'm away quite a lot these days🙁
Just arrived at lodge and there's a big notice up saying not to let dogs near loch as there's blue/green algae & it's fatal to dogs 😳

NOOOOOO !

Keep well away from blue/green algae in fact the whole area should be closed to the public.

I have fed wld birds, they are busy on the sunflower hearts.  It's raining.  From a clear sky  :-\

Oh really'the notice says just to keep animals and kids away,it's a private bit here, only folks with lodges can access the loch but thanks clkd, won't be taking kayaks out then.
All the wild birds were ranting at me to fill up feeders, the minute I went inside dozens of them landed, they seem to know the 2 week absence now

Which is why I can't understand the area being closed off ........

Not much happening here - other than the neighbours' cat trying to get in the open window - as usual - but it's too narrow today  ;D
