Have you found any spittlebugs Jaypo? :)
No,been raining since we got here😏 goinhome tomorrow,so will have a look round our garden, quite exciting 😀
These don't make any noise,I'm guessing they're swallows, they are brilliant at catching insects then disappear under the eaves of lodges

Wasps round the apples - already!

They are around ours too but it's not the apples they are after but the green and black fly (which have just appeared) to feed to the wasp grubs. Three hornets were on the bananas I've wedged in the forthysia bush  :)

Forgot to order nematodes & place is crawling with slugs, I'm just glad peas are the only veg I'm doing this year!! Saw a rabbit chopping on the grass when out for a walk earlier (between showers!).

I could string one of my little dogs up by her tail, not only did she get a hold of one of our visiting partridges (which I managed to save) she got hold of a little great tit fledgling, couldn't save that 😢😢😔
The partridges hide & when I think it's clear to let them out,she manages to find them.dont know what to do

Keep her on a lead?

Slugs - we have hedgehogs and we use pellets in the pots where they can't reach the slugs ..........

Can't keep her on a lead all the time though clkd, think I'm going to just scan the entire garden, under hedges etc, she's a nightmare, such a loving little dog but then she sees a bird & she tears after it😡

They have good noses.  Why not keep her on a long lead until the birdies have taken the hint, or accept that she's foraging  ;).  Or put a hose over the garden B4 letting her out ....... it's fun for a dog  ::)

Fed wild birds at dusk, hopefully some meal worms will be found by the hogs, night camera is out ready to capture stuff.

Which type of pellets do you use as I'm trying to find a good 'safe' one?

We have started useing some made from wool.  Available from most garden centres and seem to work pretty well.

Husband was doubtful but is quite impressed. Also got him to swap to peat free compost.  :)
