If you do a search you'll see them.  Mainly for pulling carts and often palomino colour.  Quite a history there ;-).

Oh pretty some nice blond manes in the photos I found  ;D

Yep.  Can't see how they would have been used as War Horses though  :-\ by Napoleon.  Riding ahead of battle maybe.

From Pau today ........... we went there many years ago, the humidity was AWFUL!

It's racing well so far.  There's a big banner with a comical donkey painted on  ;D

However: a cyclist suffered bad injury a couple of weeks ago, in a velodrome.  The racing surface is wooden slats and he slid along against the direction of the stats  :o

When Olympic gold medallist Dani Rowe retired from elite cycling, the self-confessed exercise addict set her sights on the 2019 London marathon.

The 28-year-old had competed for Wales in last year's Commonwealth Games and was in peak condition - she thought.

But within months of starting running she developed two stress fractures in her right leg, and a scan showed the start of another in her left.

"I wanted to get straight into running… I never thought my bones wouldn't be up to it," the three-time world champion said.

Experts said all the hours of bike training meant her bones were not used to any impact, even though her bone density, which had been monitored during her cycling career, was normal.

Why does this not surprise me?  Cycling is certainly not impact sport.

It's was a very minor incident between Tony Martin and Luke Rowe.  They both shook hand at the end of the race and laughed about it. Now both kick off.

Ridiculous  :o

Having viewed more of the 'off camera' footage via le Tour programme from 10.00 a.m. it certainly wasn't a minor incident as it seems that: Tony weaved towards Luke who almost went into a ditch after which, hidden by the initial footage, Luke grabbed Tony by the neck and there was irritation most of the final miles of the race, prior to that incident between the two.  Had it been in public Luke would have been done for attacking Tony in the street!

It does seem strange that after Sagan being thrown off 2 years ago that Team Managers haven't asked for a stay of execution, however, with such a fast race and with them being in the public eye, decisions have to be made immediately.

We haven't done anything else in the last 10 years except put these 3 weeks aside to watch ........ it'll be la Veulta next  ;D

Crikey, what a stage  :o  8)

Today is when the Race will be decided I think - I would like to C Julian Alephilippe win as I don't think that 'G' has the legs.  With Chris Froome out the event has opened up considerably.

Heads up for Worlds being held across Yorkshire I think in September.

I would like to see a womens' tour round Scotland ....... rather than running le Tour for women in France why not set up an individual event?
