Octopus and eagle square off at Canadian fish farm

The duelling animals were found floating in the waters off Quatsino, British Columbia.

I am very tactile but can't bear all those arms  :o.  It was Le Traveeler De la Mere by Victor Hugo that put me off as a child - on the radio the description of the octopus was so vivid  :o :o  :-\

I have to make myself watch them in acquariums as they are clever - many years ago I read a report of a Lab. that had crabs in one tank and an octopus in the other.  Every morning the crabs would be gone  :o so a camera was a installed.  The critter crawled from his tank, across the floor between and into the one which had crabs in.  Food on the hop ?  :D >shudders<

Octopus are very intelligent, as Birdy says. I recommend watching a BBC 2 programme which was on earlier this year, called 'An Octopus in my House', if it's still available (on YouTube, maybe)?

Obviously not for those who can't bear to look at them, though!

'in my house'  :o - bit like Dr Who then, to be watched behind the settee ?  Is it the one that leaves it's tank to get to the crabs ?
