Songs for the Menopause
« on: October 27, 2019, 04:36:34 PM »

So some songs have taken on new meanings now in the menopause.  Here are a few that I've considered, hope you have some more.

Changes - David Bowie
Feeling Hot Hot Hot - The Merrymen
Insomnia - Faithless
I'm all shoot up - Elvis Presley
Since you've (my hormones) been gone - Rainbow
All (c)dried Out - Alison Moyet
Are Friends Electric - Gary Newman

I hope, as there are more and more successful women artists reaching this age, and not necessarily fading gracefully into the background, that they will put more about this time of life into music.  It could be great  ;D

Shirley Bassey is releasing her final disc soon.
Many folk singers performed into their 70s/80s.

Don't cry, sister, cry
It'll be alright in the morning
Don't cry, sister, cry
Everything'll be just fine

J J Cale

And another one of his "Crazy Mama", husband recently started to sing along to that one.  Coincidence?
