I am coming up 5 months off hrt. I also had excessive hair loss on hrt, the last one of which was premarin and provera. Now off my hair is growing back. Even at a month off i could see lots of new growth as could my hairdresser. I also feel much much better off hrt. For me it caused anxiety, worsening depression and frequent migraine with aura. Cant believe i stayed on hrt 4 years feeling like death. I tried every preparation available too. X

Thank you so much for your replies. I did have my thyroid checked recently and tests came back ok. I also give blood 3 times a year so I think any issues like that would show up.
Alua thank you so much for your reassurance that your hair started to grow back after 1 month off  Provera. That gives me hope. Did you use any special products for hair loss.
Best wishes.

I always had a good crop of hair but on hrt i think inprobably lost half a head of hair. Ibused no products at all. The hrt was like poison for me in the end.

Hi everyone, I've had to stop HRT because of various side effects to Estrodrial. I'm 5.5 weeks on now in my journey and just wanted to give everyone an update on my current menopause symptoms.

Over the last few weeks most of my side effects have diminshed, ie: acid reflux, palpitations, aura migranes and hot flushes. My hair has stopped shedding too, I did have a couple of anxious moments along the way but they seem to have settled. It took the full 5+ weeks though for them to get better.

I still have VA, which I know I will have for life, for that I'm taking Vagifem daily and Yes products. At the moment these seem to be keeping it at bay. :) I'm booked in to see the menopause specialist to see if there are any other additions that may help the VA symptons. No idea how long that will take!

I have found taking up daily Yoga extremely useful over the last few weeks.

This along side my magnesium spray for the dreaded palps (what a brilliant product). :)

I would just like to say, there is hope after stopping HRT, it's not for everyone and there are other products/alternative therapies out there that may help you. I struggled on for 1 1/2 years thinking it was the progesterone component of my HRT that was to blame for my symptons when in fact it was the Estrogen.

So good luck to anyone thinking of or attempting to leave HRT regime. It is a ma~oossive step but it is a conquerable one. Stay positive! ❤
Hi I know this post is really old so not expecting ans answer but I've just stopped cold turkey as I have never felt so ill on hrt. Since stopping f I feel a lot better in myself but have development awful acid reflux. I'm taking omeprazole for but was wondering how long you had been on hrt and how long it took before feeling better! Many thanks

Thank you discogirl I can't wait for it to all be out of my system I feel absolutely dreadful. The acid reflux is soooo painful absolutely ridiculous what this stuff has done to me in such a short space of time. There's been nothing positive from starting hrt  :'(
Hey ho onwards and upwards hopefully the next few weeks will get better
Thanks for replying xx

I've developed acid reflux or LPR while on bhrt, now needing to taper down as cold turkey will sent me over the bridge. Also have ibs and gallstones. A remedy for acid reflux is to take HC Betaine with pepsin with meals see Youtube The SAHD Life - How to Treat Acid Reflux (GERD) for Good! this guy is full of tips and information. Unlike popular belief it is probable you have low acid and ppis will exacerbate. He has a test in his video to see if you do. As for the rest i'm suffering tremendously and regret starting this hrt that never gave me any positives except some vertigo seems better. HOw to taper now and avoid more damaged of ibs, acid reflux and gallstones. best wishes

I’m five months cold turkey and five months since any bleeding. I wasn’t feeling good on HRT and didn’t know where I was naturally- my withdrawal bleeds were hit and miss for a few months before. I’ve felt great and more like myself. Less anxious, less dizzy, less palpitations etc etc. Motivated enough to lose a couple of stone. Tip-top form.

Until this morning, when I’ve suddenly started bleeding and I feel absolutely meh

I should have known it was too good to last….. :-\
