Please hope that this event has a good conclusion  .......

Coastguards and the fire service are working to rescue a man after his leg became trapped in some rocks while the tide was coming in.

6 mins. ago:  Sam Stockdale, from HM Coastguard, said: "It's such good news that this man has been freed.

"Everyone worked together on scene to look after the man and also to free him as soon as was practically possible."

Hot weather and not understanding the Tides.  Sudden cramp.  Being swept out on lilos ........... thought those had gone out with the Ark! On the North Norfolk Coast it's common for the in-coming tide to creep silently between the sand banks and appear suddenly in front of walkers, who haven't realised that the tide has turned  :-\.  In the deep creeks it soon blocks the way to the beach.  Impossible to swim in as the undercurrents can pull faster than 1 is able to walk.

Yes the tides can be unpredictable especially if you are not used to the sea, most locals check the tide times
A few years ago, well probably about 10, a family were lost at sea, not sure now of all the details, but some members of the family were rescued, the mum and dad and i think 2 children, another 2  or 3 were never found, doesn't bear thinking about does it,
I don't know how anyone can get over something like this, never do i expect

People away from home are relaxed.  Spending time together which isn't often 'natural' ..... so might be bickering.  Not knowing an area and not thinking to check the tide times and lie of the land.  Seen it lots on the North Norfolk Coast around Wells, Cromer ........ as well as on the Marshes with the creeks.  When we went collecting samphire the hairs were up on the back of my neck as I watched for the tide to turn.  We were 3 miles from dry land  :o so had to time it absolutely.
