Hi ladies. Happy on oestrogel 1-2 pumps daily and utrogestran every other day.. last scan endometrial lining 4.5 mm.. stopped urogestran for 3 days just to see if bloating would reduce and a bleed would occur.. Absolutely nothing.. Do I recommence urogestran and presume that my lining is insufficient to produce a bleed Any info would be useful .
Hi ladies...take urogestrone vaginally..had a dx scan recently as fell over,( have MS)and bone density was that of an 18yr old lol!! After posting this question have seen an article April 2019,by louise newson saying alternate days of utrogestran is fine ( unlicensed as such) so am happy
Taken vaginally, we absorb more progesterone.
Lou Lou, do you take the Utrogestan orally?I was wondering whether when you take this vaginally you lose all the other benefits on breast and bone health..
Slightly off topic, but look at boron for osteoporosis, Tracey E. My mother uses ionic boron drops, and magnesium.
Tracey..Hi,am 58..not sure how many years post menopausal as had mirena coils x3 over a period of 15 years for menorrhagia...only when coil was taken out 4 years ago were the hot flushes 30+ a day and night sweats up to 12 a night unbearable. Oestrogel 1-2 pumps a day and alternate days of vaginal urogestran has made my life brilliant in every dept.!! No breakthrough bleeding since this regime started 3 months ago.Was on sequential previously but found bleeding every month a pain.Only issue ,is I've put on half a stone..so just eat less now to maintain weight..but progesterone is steroid based so weight gain probably is normal. There is evidence that micronised progesterone (urogestran) is the least likely type to cause breast cancer.I am a retired clinical specialist, so the amount of research I have done is rather excessive!!!..but it is my body and I want to look after it ..lol.Hope this is helpful.
Tracey,yep 100mg alternate nights...last scan 4 weeks ago endometrial lining 4.5mm
