Just a quick follow up in case anyone else has a similar experience. The extreme nausea could have been because I started the PPI the day after the helicobacter pylori test, which involved taking a tablet. It could have been an interaction between them. I restarted the PPI last Thursday and the first 3 days I had slight nausea before meals but much less than after the first tablet.

My gastric issue seems a little better, but not completely resolved. Just waiting for results of the test, which could take a few weeks now. I'm staying off the probiotics for the time being though.

Hi Sooze. The only way my h-pylori was detected was with an endoscopy. My stool test showed nothing.  The ppis do make you feel worse I think. I'm also on two strong antibiotics to kill the bacteria. They also told me I had hiatus hernia, gastritis, duodenitis, erosion in the duodenum. Now awaiting a colonoscopy to investigate further. Let us know your results please and take care xx

Well test came back negative and I was getting worse side effects from the PPI than the symptoms I was suffering with so I stopped them.

Also stopped all dairy products (by accident), cut out chillis, espresso and chocolate and started Solgar lactobacillus tablets that a friend recommended and my symptoms are almost completely resolved.......go figure??

Thanks for everyone's input and concern, goodness knows what it was but I'm sticking with the current management while it works!
