D-Day Tomorrow
« on: March 20, 2019, 08:56:22 PM »

Well at last I have my gynae appt tomorrow for testosterone. After hoping that gradually upping my patches they would help with a whole long list of issues, it hasn't helped with those caused by FADS at all. My wonderful GP had my testosterone level checked & she had never seen anyone with a level like mine - non-existent. According to Prof Studd as I've had a hysterectomy with both ovaries removed, (2 years ago now) it's hard to justify not giving testosterone so I'm really hoping it will be prescribed for me tomorrow, please keep you fingers crossed for me and I will update tomorrow.

Hope your appointment went well and that you don't have the supply issues that I did.

I've only just started T this week. I'm on 1x measure of Tostran 2x per week. I had my first dose on Tuesday and I'll be taking my second dose tomorrow. It should be interesting to see how we respond. So far nothing has changed!  Early days, though 8)

Well it's good and bad news. Consultant gynaecologist I saw was lovely but seems not to have prescribed testosterone very often as she was talking about implants which aren't available anymore, so I explained what my GP mentioned about being a amber flag against the gel so while I was there she spoke to the hospital pharmacy, it seems they will prescribe it but there apparently a lot of form filling and it will have to go to LHA panal for approval, at least consultant said I would benefit and will put a strong case forward. So it's all a waiting game 2-3 months :'( Good news is consultant & nurse now know that other patients can hopefully be given it. Think I might be a test case - go me! Only disappointed it's going to take time.

Wouldn't you think ....... that 'they' would know B4 a lady requires treatment  :bang:.  What's wrong with these people .......

What was suggested until the decision is made, in case the answer is 'no'?

Nothing, if that's the case I'm stuffed. Have discussed with hubby he disagrees with the system which is understandable, it would be so much easier if testosterone was actually licensed for women, we're not living in the dark ages anymore! I go to my GP on 1st April for my 2 month everol patch review so will ask her if she can help put the pressure on otherwise I will be  :bang:
