Anyone experimented?
« on: March 26, 2019, 09:54:01 AM »

Hi,
Been on hrt sequi for a year at first all good, but symptoms have crept back eventually with everything I've tried, now on Evorel patches and utrogestan-tbh I really don't like the messing about with patches and progesterone and the utrogestan is making my mood dip.
Sooo, I have some femeston packets left and was going to ask my go to change me back as I had no side effect with it, but I also have a cupboard full of patches, so I was going to be really naughty and take the femeston and stick a patch on as well and see what happens!
Anyone ever done this? If so did it work.

thanks for coming back.
Yes, I was thinking about the GP saying  NO, NO more.  I guess that's why i am fishing about to see if anyone is on sequi tablets and an extra patch and if so did it work.  I am seeing GP next week and i 'll see how far she will go.
I'm not sure it will knock out the Oestrogen /prog balance.
If i am on 2 mgs of femeston and say a 50mcg patch the oestrpgen will be the same the whole month.
CHuck in the dygesterone for 14 days , but the Oestrogen will stay the same.
I'll be honest i am a 'nutorious' expreimenter LOL- but what i really need to know is does anyone out there use both

Hi Butterfly- glad to know i'm not the only 'experimenter' out there LOL.
I have another thread open 'meltdown'- moaning how horrible Urgoestan is and what a pain i find the patches grrrr.
So my 'cunning plan' is to go back on Femeston and 'experiement' with slapping a patch on, see what happens.
All i would need to do then , if it works is to sell it to my GP..............I can dream.............

Yes I tried as thought I need more Estrogen so see if it helps, I tell the doctor too. Least I no what's what when I go to see her. Mind not sure what to do, stick with it or go back to patches (which from my notes made me tired) I'm so fed up xx

Hi Ladies
Just reading through this thread and wondering what dosage of oestrogen you all take.. I'm two years post total hysterectomy (at age 37) for endometriosis and fibroids.. my hrt worked for a year and now it isn't and I'm
So fatigued I find it hard to get out of bed some days, my GP is less than useless and it's taken me 4 months to get some bloods done.. my oestrogen is under 100 but he still said this was satisfactory which is the level that a 90 year old woman would have 🤦‍♀️🤣🤣
I think I'm going to have to either pay the £295 for a phone conversation with Nick Panay or ask for a referral to the menopause clinic.. my nearest one is 140 miles away in Liverpool x any help would be greatly appreciated x

What regime are you on? Under 100 pmol/l is certainly not satisfactory at your age. For example, you need about 250 pmol/l just to avoid osteoporosis, and even 250 is not much. If you weren't absorbing well from the product you were using, why does your GP not prescribe another? You are entitled to decent treatment on the NHS!

Hi JP
Thanks for the reply, I take 2 pumps of estrogel (each dose is 1.25g) of a morning on my thighs and then testogel (pea size amount) every other night. My testosterone level was 1.8 which I think is ok but I was pretty sure that <100 was too low for oestrogen . I have no faith in the doctors especially as the First lot of bloods the GP did was for my FSH level  :o even though I said I had had a full total hysterectomy.. I'm really at a loss and so very tired which is a daily battle with two young children. Any help on levels would be greatly appreciated so I am armed with something when  I go back to see him... I have increased my estrogel to 3 pumps but as yet haven't seen any difference at all  :'(

Hi Birdy
I have requested to see a different GP in the practice , I've just relocated and I live in a very very rural area and only one GP practice .. so not a lot of choice unfortunately xx
