My brother used to eat lettuce with sugar sprinkled on it (plus salad cream). Also, when small, he would only eat boiled egg if the shell was pink. My mum used to put cochineal in the water. Guests used to look a bit surprised to get pink eggs.

Right, that's dinner sorted. Boiled potatoes in custard. Thanks so much, Jaypo. Best tip I have ever received on this forum.

OK so I'm thinking my Masterchef entry as follows:

To start:
Heinz oxtail soup with floating sugared lettuce.

The Main:
Bobs' Coqu with a side of boiled potatoes & custard.

Dessert
Lord Toffingham ice with a soda stream chaser

Nailed It . That's dinner with the in-laws sorted.

Cripes. Check out the packaging for Lord Toffingham ice cream.
It's Jacob Rees- Mog to be sure.  That's how be made his dollar.

Me and my brother used to make,

Get a slice bread, spread butter on, sprinkle salt n pepper on, then spread mustard over,
And a sprinkling of vinegar. The bread used to be a bit soggy, but we'd have such a laff making it and eating it.....why, I don't know....lol
We even tried grilling an egg, ???????? Don't ask me.......🤣😂🤣
