Dry vagina
« on: December 28, 2018, 12:04:13 PM »

Hi Ladies

I've just used my first tiny amount of Replens vaginal cream.
I've been a bit itchy and a little bit sore lately, so I had a look, because I thought, ‘oh no, not thrush coming now, on top of that bleeding I've been having,' but, no, I'm glad to say , all looks ok,
so I thought I'd get some Replens and try it, just in case it's dryness I'm experiencing.
And OMG, I feel better already!
I didn't even realise I was dry before, unless it's because I've been using pantie liners, and towels because of the bleeding.
Anyhow, it just feels lovely. I'm so glad I've tried it. ;)

Xx

I would seriously consider getting some topical estrogen prescribed as it sounds like VA is starting.

Oh no, does it?
I'm at the docs on the 3rd jan anyhow, so I suppose I could ask.
I'll have to do some research though, I don't know much about it.

Thanx for that Tinkerbell.

Not sure what stage you at, but my first symptom was VA when I was 47 and still having periods. I took two years to get treatment because I kept getting told it was thrush, use of pads, washing products plus several doctors saying you don't get it until two years post meno....all of that is rubbish!
Do not be fobbed off, it's harder to treat the longer it's left, ask for Vagifem or Ovestin.

Ok thanx, I will.
Do you use everyday?
What about transferring on to OH during sex, does it matter or use after?
Not that we're busy in that department, but you never know do you..?  Lol

I use Vagifem everyday, but some people manage on less, if you are still having sex I would opt for that one as it can be used at anytime of the day. My partner was worried about it transferring and growing a pair of boobs....he hasn't yet ;D

Mines already got a small pair of man boobs. 😂🤣
But I don't think he'd like bigger ones.   :boobs:
And I'm not telling him I've wrote this about him either!

Thanx for that, I'll ask when I go.

"replens" can ease symptoms but do read our various threads on Vaginal Atrophy which needs regular treatment.  Let us know what your GP suggests.

Thanx Birdy.
After a couple days of using only a tiny amount of a Replens, I can report
everything has gone back to normal.
I think it had something to do with using the pantie liners, as I was bleeding for four weeks
prior.
So alls good at the mo.....xx

Pantie liners can cause sweat = bacteria or general itchiness.

Hi Ladies.
As you know I was spotting/bleeding. Started 30th Nov. Stopped by the 30th Dec.
Thought I was a tiny bit dry one day after a shower, so used Replens, just a smear, and found it done the trick.(earlier post).🔼
All has been ok up until yesterday, when after sex, next day, bleeding again, only this time, it's more bright red, whereas before it was browny.
So,........the scan I had for the previous spotting was good, nothing wrong, so what now?
Doc said if I get any bleeding again she will have to do swabs and send them off. And to book a double appointment.
My question is, this is the second time now I've bleed after sex, IS that VA.? I have no other symptoms of any other kind down there, this is what's worrying me.
I've booked in with doc, but can't get in till 22nd jan.

What do you think.....    thanx.....xx

Red blood is fresh - you may have a polyp that bleeds on contact or it could be the start of vaginal atrophy.

Brown blood is old - hanging around a bit  ::).

Get some vaginal atrophy treatment for 3 months to see if it eases these symptoms.
